ATOOL supports Toronto’s climate plan

TransformTO is a climate action strategy developed by the City of Toronto with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050, compared to 1990 levels. The strategy was first approved by Toronto City Council in 2017 and is updated every 5 years. The TransformTO plan includes a range of initiatives and policies aimed at promoting sustainable transportation, increasing energy efficiency, and accelerating the adoption of renewable energy sources.

Working groups are a key component of the TransformTO process, providing input and recommendations to the city on specific areas of the strategy. These working groups are composed of stakeholders from various sectors, including industry, community groups, and government agencies.

ATOOL, as a part of one of these working groups, continues to provide input on how the taxi industry can contribute to Toronto’s climate action goals.
